DESCRIPTION:MACO-Summer Conference: August 18 – 21\, 2027\, Convention Center\, Ocean City\, MD \n  \nThe Summer Conference is held at the Roland Powell Convention Center in Ocean City\, Worcester County. The annual conference draws nearly 2\,000 local\, state\, and federal government official attendees and their families. \nApproximately 30 continuing education sessions will be offered at the conference\, featuring more than 80 speakers from the public and private sectors. \nThe conference also hosts state agency briefings\, organization meetings\, and regional county meetings as well as Maryland Association of Counties (MACo) committee meetings. Several education sessions are approved for the Academy for Excellence in Local Governance course credit. \nTrade Show\nAn exhibit booth trade show\, featuring over 250 of the best of commercial\, state\, and county services and products is held in two grand exhibit halls. \nFeatured Events\n\nTech Expo – Wednesday offering showcasing deep-dive technology-focused sessions and a special one-day-only trade show of technology vendors.\nTaste of Maryland Reception – Thursday afternoon reception highlighting Maryland’s tourism industry and economic development efforts. Guests enjoy tasting samples of food and beverage produced in Maryland’s counties.\nCrab Feast – THE place to see and be seen at MACo’s Summer Conference – all-you-can-eat Crab Feast with a band\, clown\, and all the right people all in one place (about 1\,300 individuals attend this event!).\nGovernor’s Closing Address – MACo’s Summer Conference traditionally ends on Saturday with an address from the Governor about his plans and perspective for the upcoming General Assembly Session.
