DESCRIPTION:MACO – Winter Conference: January 5 – 8\, 2027\, Hyatt Chesapeake\, Cambridge\, MD \n  \nEducational Opportunities\nThe Winter Conference is a three-day event and is scheduled to be held at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Hotel in Dorchester County through 2025. It draws nearly 1\,000 county and state elected and appointed officials. \nEducational session topics focus on reviewing timely issues that will be relevant during the upcoming Maryland General Assembly Session. Like the Summer Conference\, there are many regional county meetings\, state agency briefings\, Maryland Association of Counties (MACo) committee and board meetings\, and academy credit courses offered. \nAt the Winter Conference\, there are 70 tabletop exhibits on display Wednesday & Thursday. \n  \n*NOTE ON JAN 2027 CONFERENCE: \nDuring an election year (like 2026)\, MACo moves our Winter Conference from December to the following January\, to provide time for our newly elected officials to be confirmed and installed in their roles before joining us at conference. There will be no Winter Conference in 2026. The January 2027 Winter Conference will include an extra day of programming on Tuesday\, Jan 5\, for our Newly Elected Officials Orientation – this is for new county elected officials only\, with the regular conference content for veteran elected officials\, county professionals\, and others being held Wed-Fri\, Jan 6-8\, 2027. Our normal\, 3-day Winter Conference will resume being held in December\, starting with December 2027 through 2029\, until the next election year – 2030. \nQuestions?
